Aid Shipment to Lebanon

Mission in Lebanon

March 2009

On March 30th, 2009, volunteers from GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team deployed humanitarian aid to Lebanon. The donation includes the following:

- Over 250 various medical items that will be distributed throughout hospitals and medical clinics
- PUR Purifier of Water to purify 1,032,000 litres of clean drinking water (103,200 sachets)
- 76,800 Oral Rehydration Solution sachets which will provide relief from severe dehydration

The humanitarian aid has been donated to our partner Muslim Aid U.K. who will distribute the items through local charities in Lebanon. The life-saving supplies will be distributed to communities and medical clinics to reach the affected population.
In July, 2006, the military engagement of the Israeli Defense Forces resulted in a humanitarian crisis for the civilian population in southern Lebanon. Since that time, reconstruction efforts, including the rebuilding of medical and water infrastructure has continued, however, there remains a need for assistance in providing those affected in Lebanon with medical and water purification supplies.
