Search and Rescue Training in Nepal

Mission in Nepal

April 1996

Foundation Director, Rahul Singh spent 3 months working in an isolated part of the Nepalese Himalayas called Shyauli Bazaar of the Lamjung District in Central Nepal. Mr. Singh coordinated a search and rescue team in the Himalayas. While training rescue squad members to be emergency medical technicians (EMTs), he coordinated all rescue programs. Advanced training courses were given to local health care workers and Mr. Singh acted as the Medical Director of a 24 bed hospital. This program helped to raise the overall level of medical care available in this remote and under serviced region. Our work there is only beginning. DMGF wants to raise funds in order to buy equipment, increase level of training to ACLS protocols in order to raise the overall level of service that this facility can offer.
