Supply Donation - Part of shipment to 5 countries

It's not everyday Global Medic has the privilege to provide aid to multiple countries at the same time. On Tuesday, May 29 th , 2007, we loaded 5 containers destined for Ghana , Indonesia , the Philippines , Somalia and Sri Lanka . From CS World Cargo's Canadian headquarters in Mississauga , our logistics provider, a number of our volunteers worked tirelessly so that people in need around the world are able to receive the aid donated by the generous people of Canada .

Ghana received water purification tablets and vitamins to help alleviate the water-borne diseases which are prevalent in that country. Indonesia and the Philippines were shipped water purification systems and tablets, as well as some medical infrastructure. We have provided a tremendous amount of aid and support to both countries in the past due to their inherent vulnerability to natural disasters. Because of this, we have forged and strengthened partnerships with respected local NGOs. Groups such as Dian Desa and Mine Safety Association will now be more equipped to handle the day to day needs of the people they provide aid and support to. Somalia and Sri Lanka are currently in a state of war and because of this we primarily packed their containers with medical infrastructure, supplemented with water purification tablets.
