A tragic fire at 200 Wellesley Street East on Sept 24th has left scores of families in dire need. These families have lost many belongings and personal items as a result of smoke damage from this tragic high rise fire.
GlobalMedic, in partnership with The Gord Martineau Foundation, is teaming up with frontline emergency workers to challenge the residents of our fine city to respond. We are seeking out donations of mattresses and other household items to be distributed to affected residents by Toronto Community Housing Corporation. The emergency workers are arranging the logistical transport and we are seeking your help in donating some mattresses for this worthy cause. We hope to inspire the entire city to help. Donations for the victims in the form of cash can be sent directly to GlobalMedic (mail or online) and will be used to purchase new mattresses/household items for the victims. Donations of goods will be accepted as well and can be arranged by calling our office at 416 916 0522. Tax receipts will be issued for all donations. Note: GlobalMedic is not the only agency working to assist these fire victims. Other agencies are working with Toronto Community Housing Corporation and we encourage all Torontonians to help by donating to the agency of your choice
