PHILIPPINES COMPRESSED EARTH BLOCK PROJECT 2014

Typhoon Hagupit has struck the Philippines. In Barangay 104, the community where GlobalMedic’s brick houses are being constructed, the main road was blocked by a landslide during the storm. Using heavy equipment from the construction site, GlobalMedic RRT members managed to reopen the road and assess damage in the community.

All 20 of GlobalMedic’s permanent homes survived the storm with minimal damage and 25 families used them as an evacuation shelter during the worst of the typhoon.
