HURRICANE DORIAN RESPONSE 2019

The Category 5 Hurricane Dorian made landfall over the northwest Bahamas on September 1st. The hurricane is the strongest in the history of the Bahamas.

The storm has damaged infrastructure and caused massive flooding on the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama. 43 people have been killed and over 76,000 people have been affected by the storm. People are in need of clean water, food and shelter. GlobalMedic is responding.

GlobalMedic has deployed its Rapid Response Team with water purification units and a RescUAV Team with drones to the Bahamas to provide on the ground assistance. They are operating large scale water purification systems and distributing household water purification units, food and hygiene items in Nassau and Freeport. GlobalMedic will continue to ship aid into the region and rotate teams in for the next several weeks.
