FLOOD RESPONSE 2016

7. RRT member runs a WASH training session for Gravity Filter and Hygiene Kit beneficiaries

More than 1.6 million people were affected by heavy rains and severe flooding in Assam, India. Surging rivers destroyed thousands of hectares of cropland and infrastructure. The local government opened over 500 relief camps to accommodate close to 230,000 displaced people. The health and hygiene of affected communities was severely threatened.

GlobalMedic sent our Rapid Response Team (RRT) to support affected populations with the provision of 10 AP700 Point-of-Source Water Purification Units, 805 Household Gravity Filter Units and 805 Family Hygiene Kits. In total, this program reached over 18,000 people.
