COMPLEX EMERGENCY 2017

A beneficiary carries a Family Emergency Kits back to his tent in an IDP camp in Syria.

As the war in Syria enters its seventh year, the devastation continues. Today, 13.5 million Syrians are in need of humanitarian assistance, many of whom have been forced to flee their homes. There are more than 6.6 million Internally Displaced People (IDPs) in Syria and 4.8 million refugees in other countries around the world. Airstrikes continue to strike across the country, increasingly targeting civilian infrastructure, including hospitals and residential neighbourhoods.

An increasing number of Syrian families are being forced to flee their homes. Often leaving at a moments notice, these families are unable to pack important materials to support themselves as they move to safer areas. These mobile populations face serious health and safety risks and are in desperate need of humanitarian support.
