GlobalMedic’s Emergency Food Program addresses the need for nutritional support in conflict and disaster zones. The program accomplishes this through the distribution of Emergency Food Kits. These kits deliver calorically dense meals while maintaining the dignity of the beneficiary by offering a culturally appropriate solution.
The goal of this program is simple. We want to do emergency food better.
In order to accomplish this goal, we are constantly modifying and adapting the program to ensure it is able to meet the need we are trying to fill.

GlobalMedic produces and delivers Emergency Food Kits designed to provide families with an easy to make, ‘ready-to-cook’ meal option. The kits are sealed bags of portioned dried ingredients that can be cooked together to create a meal. These are meals that do not require much equipment to prepare and will be familiar to the families eating them. They are portable and have a long shelf life, so displaced families on the move can easily transport them if necessary.
As an alternative to Emergency Food Kits, GlobalMedic has also designed a ‘pantry style’ program. These kits contain a pantry of multiple culturally appropriate staple ingredients to be assembled at the discretion of the beneficiary. The pantry solution is ideal for families living in longer term housing with access to more robust cooking facilities. We are also able to support local Canadian food banks with this program by providing donations of pantry staples.

McAntony’s Menu is the domestic version of our food program. It was designed to complement and support local food bank systems who serve the 1 in 8 families in Canada who are food insecure. McAntony’s Menu is a part of The Grassroots Revolution.
