One of the largest uses of GlobalMedic’s shelter program is to deploy and set up field hospitals in order to restore access to medical care when normal facilities are unable to operate. We also provide tents and inflatable units that are used for temporary family housing, schools, Child Friendly Spaces and even animal rescues.
GlobalMedic’s Rapid Response Team accompanies the structures we deploy to lead their construction. After the structure is built, it remains with local partners to add to their capacity to support their communities.
GlobalMedic has also reinforced existing structures to improve safety in conflict zones. We conducted Blast Film installations in cities along the contact line in Ukraine. Installed in windows at schools and hospitals, this film provides an increased safety factor and resilience for the communities and their children.
