In September 2017, two category 5 hurricanes devastated the Caribbean. Winds reaching up to 300 km/hour took the lives of hundreds of people and left millions without power, shelter and clean water. Hurricane Irma left places uninhabitable such as Barbuda, where the entire population of the island was forced to evacuate. Hurricane Maria’s path of destruction damaged or destroyed 90% of the buildings in Dominica and left 90% of the population in urgent need of assistance. Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Maria affected millions of people in 21 nations. GlobalMedic responded.
