GlobalMedic has run many disaster responses in Canada including responding to wildfires and floods. These responses represent the type of work we often do internationally, focused on immediate aid for acute crises. We are always innovating, and after evaluating the existing mechanisms we use to fill gaps in the humanitarian sector internationally, we identified areas where we could use these mechanisms domestically.
The Grassroots Revolution represents our four core programs designed to support people living in Canada. These programs address chronic emergencies like food and hygiene insecurity, and work to fill gaps in systems that already exist in order to reach the greatest number of people. These four programs encompass all of GlobalMedic’s innovative methodology and focuses on leveraging volunteer labour and raising awareness through active volunteer participation.
Core Programs
The four programs that make up the Grassroots Revolution are McAntony’s Menu, the Soap Revolution, the Vertical Farm, and the Hygiene Hub.
